My Story

Hi and welcome to my website. My name is Julie, I am a silversmith and tutor living in the beautiful seaside town of Cleethorpes. The breathtaking beauty of the coast and the stunning Lincolnshire Wolds close by are the perfect place for a creative mind.

When I think about it, this journey really began many years ago when I was probably around 12 years old. I remember collecting sea glass on Cleethorpes beach with my Gran. We would take our treasures back to Gran’s holiday home ‘The Bung’ and use the sea glass to make pretty pictures of boats sailing on the sea. These are amongst my fondest memories and my love of making pretty things developed from those times with my gran. I continue to work with beautiful crystals, natural stones and sea glass as well as silver and beads.

I first studied silversmithing in the early 1990s and have continued my personal development by attending courses in all types of jewellery making. I study whenever I can and love learning new techniques and will always strive to continue to grow. I also have a huge library of jewellery making and silversmithing books from which I refer to now and again, my students find these useful too.

In addition to making jewellery for my customers, my passion is teaching. I have been teaching jewellery making since 2009 and hold regular workshops in silversmithing, beading, wire work and polymer clay. From my humble beginnings in church halls, and hired premises, I now have a beautiful studio built by my husband in our garden in Lincolnshire.

So, whether you want a piece of jewellery for yourself, a gift for a loved one or to attend one of my workshops, please browse my website and let me know if I can help you in any way.

Hope to meet you one day soon - Julie
